Nuvonic (Hanovia) PharmaLine UV Systems
In Turkey, Mikron Proses supplies Nuvonic (Hanovia) PharmaLine UV systems for pharmaceutical and healthcare process water as the Nuvonic distributor. The family includes six reactor variants for disinfection, validated dose assurance, free-chlorine reduction and post-SIP ozone destruction, plus the compact ECO line for loops and pre-treatment barriers.
All PharmaLine reactors use stainless steel 316L / 1.4404 wetted surfaces. The gaskets are EPDM, listed to FDA 21 CFR 177.2600; the six non-ECO variants (D AF, D AF H, PQ AF, PQ AF H, DC PH, DO AF H) are additionally USP Class VI 121°C approved. The full range is catalogued under UV systems.

D AF and D AF H: Standard and Hygienic Pre-treatment
PharmaLine D AF covers 6 models (0003–0090) in the 115 – 700 W lamp power range. It uses a single low-pressure amalgam lamp with a 12,000-hour life and a standard flanged body for pre-treatment positions where hygienic finish is not critical. D AF H offers the same power range with a tri-clamp hygienic body and an inner surface finish of <0.38 µm for cGMP distribution loops.
PQ AF and PQ AF H: Validated Dose Assurance
The PQ range supplies 5 models (0005–0090) in the 125 – 750 W range. These reactors are third-party biodosimetry validated against the USEPA UV Disinfection Guidance Manual. A dry DVGW UV sensor and UVGuard window allow performance checks against a reference sensor while the system is running; flow and UVT meter inputs enable real-time RED calculations. RS485 Modbus communicates with the plant SCADA. PQ AF uses standard flanges, while PQ AF H uses tri-clamp hygienic construction.
DC PH: Free Chlorine Removal
PharmaLine DC PH uses medium-pressure lamps across 10 models (DC PH 50–500) with a power range of 1.6 – 25.2 kW. It breaks down residual free chlorine (HOCl and OCl⁻) with high-intensity 200–400 nm UV to protect downstream RO and EDI equipment without chemical dosing or media replacement. Lamp life is 8,000 hours, reduced to 4,000 hours on DC PH 250/300. Fluid temperature limits are 1°C – 60°C, or up to 80°C without a wiper.
DO AF H: Post-SIP Ozone Destruction
The DO AF H is built for distribution loops that use ozone for SIP. After the ozone disinfection phase, the reactor is switched on remotely to remove residual ozone before the loop returns to service. It covers 5 models (0001–0020) in the 115 – 700 W range with a 12,000-hour low-pressure amalgam lamp and tri-clamp hygienic body.
ECO: Compact Loop and Point-of-Use Protection
PharmaLine ECO is a compact line for flows of 3.4 – 116 m³/h across models ECO 4 – ECO 125. Power ranges from 90 – 1,080 W using low-pressure amalgam lamps with an expected life of ~9,000 hours. The flow figures are disinfection capacities at a UV dose of 30 mJ/cm² and 98 % T10 at end of lamp life, and may differ with flange connections. The 316L / 1.4404 body is finished to <0.5 µm Ra, with an optional 0.38 µm Ra surface. Operating fluid temperature is 5°C – 40°C, and the reactor tolerates CIP at up to 95°C when the cabinet is electrically isolated.
Certifications
The entire PharmaLine range is CE marked. DC PH is UL listed (E149108); UL listing is an option on PQ AF and PQ AF H. The ECO datasheet lists CE marked and UL.
Applications
D AF is used for standard disinfection at pre-treatment stages of purified water systems. D AF H supplies hygienic tri-clamp disinfection inside GMP distribution loops. PQ AF and PQ AF H provide third-party biodosimetry-validated assurance for critical disinfection or pathogen barriers. DC PH protects downstream EDI systems and RO membranes from residual free chlorine and bio-fouling. DO AF H destroys residual ozone after SIP cycles. The ECO line covers PW and distribution line disinfection, RO/EDI post-treatment protection, inlet microbiological barriers and point-of-use distribution line guarding.
How Mikron Proses Helps
Mikron Proses selects the appropriate PharmaLine variant based on cGMP requirements, process water quality and line position. As Nuvonic distributor, Mikron Proses also handles supply, installation and commissioning. For loop context see the PW/WFI loop sanitization guide and the Nuvonic brand page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Technical answers from Mikron Proses.
What Hanovia PharmaLine UV models are available in Turkey?
Mikron Proses, as the Nuvonic distributor in Turkey, supplies the PharmaLine D AF, D AF H, PQ AF, PQ AF H, DC PH, DO AF H and ECO models. Each variant is sized for different pharmaceutical water positions, from standard pre-treatment to hygienic distribution loops.
Which PharmaLine variant is used for pharmaceutical UV disinfection of purified water?
For GMP distribution loops, the D AF H uses a tri-clamp hygienic body with a <0.38 µm inner surface. Where validated dose assurance is needed, the PQ AF H adds third-party biodosimetry per the USEPA UV Disinfection Guidance Manual. The compact ECO line (<0.5 µm Ra) covers PW production and distribution lines.
Can PharmaLine UV systems remove free chlorine before RO or EDI?
The DC PH variant uses medium-pressure lamps to break down residual free chlorine and protects RO and EDI equipment without chemical dosing or media replacement. It is available in 10 models from DC PH 50–500, rated at 1.6 – 25.2 kW.
How is post-SIP ozone destruction handled in a PW loop?
The DO AF H is installed in the distribution loop to remove residual ozone. It is switched off remotely during SIP so the ozone can disinfect the loop, then switched on again to remove the ozone before the loop returns to service.
What is the difference between PharmaLine PQ AF and standard D AF UV systems?
PQ AF and PQ AF H include third-party biodosimetry per the USEPA UV Disinfection Guidance Manual, a dry DVGW UV sensor, UVGuard and RS485 Modbus. D AF and D AF H supply standard disinfection without the validated dose-monitoring package.
What flow and power ranges does the PharmaLine ECO cover?
The ECO line spans models ECO 4 – ECO 125, covering 3.4 – 116 m³/h (at 30 mJ/cm², 98 % T10, end of lamp life) with 90 – 1,080 W low-pressure amalgam lamps. The expected lamp life is ~9,000 hours.
