NUVONIC (HANOVIA / BERSON) — UV DISINFECTION SYSTEMS · TURKEY DISTRIBUTOR

Nuvonic Industrial and Pharmaceutical UV Systems — Mikron Proses, Turkey Distributor

Nuvonic (Hanovia / Berson) PharmaLine, PureLine, ProLine, SwimLine and TOCLine bio-assay validated UV systems in 316L stainless steel for water treatment.

Nuvonic (Hanovia / Berson) builds on UV lamp manufacturing experience that dates back to 1924. Its bio-assay validated UV systems provide microbiological safety without chemicals, TOC reduction, ozone destruction and chloramine photolysis: 316L stainless steel UV reactors with electropolished housings, automatic mechanical wipers and smart control units.

Nuvonic UV systems are used wherever water has to be disinfected without adding chemicals: drinking water and municipal or industrial wastewater treatment, aquaculture (recirculating systems and fish farms), food and beverage process water, pharmaceutical purified water and WFI loops, swimming pools and spas, ultrapure water for semiconductors, and general industrial process water. Air and surface disinfection series are available as well.

  • PharmaLine - 316L stainless steel, electropolished (Ra < 0.38 µm), Tri-Clamp connected UV reactors for USP, Ph. Eur. and cGMP pharmaceutical PW and WFI water loops, with FDA-approved seals, UV intensity monitors and an IQ/OQ validation package.
  • PureLine - high-flow, multi-lamp stainless steel UV reactors with automatic wipers for food, beverage and bottling plants, with bio-assay validation.
  • TOCLine - 185 nm photo-oxidation unit that reduces organic carbon in semiconductor, ultrapure water and pharmaceutical WFI/UPW lines to the ppb level depending on the inlet TOC value, and destroys ozone.
  • Control panels - UV intensity monitor, real-time RED dose reading (PQ series), stepless variable lamp power, Modbus and hard-wired SCADA interface, and lamp running-hour display.
  • Residual ozone destruction and dechlorination - at 254 nm, residual ozone and free chlorine at pure water storage tank outlets and in CIP lines are broken down photolytically; activated carbon filters or sodium bisulfite chemical costs are not needed.
  • Sugar syrup UV disinfection (PureLine S) - inactivates microorganisms, including thermophilic bacteria, without heating, and reduces the energy cost of thermal pasteurization. Medium-pressure lamp technology is effective in low-UVT syrup and does not affect the taste or color of the final product.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about Nuvonic

Common questions about Nuvonic products and Mikron Proses services.

Who supplies Nuvonic UV systems in Turkey?

Mikron Proses Kimyasal ve Mühendislik Çözümleri A.Ş. is the Turkey distributor of Nuvonic (Hanovia / Berson) UV systems. It provides model selection, sales, commissioning, calibration, spare parts and lamp renewal for the PharmaLine, PureLine, ProLine, SwimLine and TOCLine series.

What UV dose should be applied in pharmaceutical WFI and PW lines?

The required UV dose depends on the target microorganism, the validation protocol and the sizing data of the specific reactor, so no single value applies to every purified water (PW) and Water for Injection (WFI) loop. Nuvonic datasheet capacities for the ECO and AF3 ranges are quoted at a 30 mJ/cm² average dose at 98% T10 at end of lamp life. The dose for residual ozone destruction (de-ozonation) or TOC reduction by 185 nm photo-oxidation is confirmed during sizing, together with your flow rate and UV transmittance.

How is the choice made between a low-pressure amalgam (LPHO) lamp and a medium-pressure (MP) lamp?

In lines with continuous cold water flow where energy saving is the priority, LPHO amalgam lamps (about 35% conversion of electricity to UVC, 100 to 800 W per lamp, according to the Nuvonic company profile) are preferred. Medium-pressure (MP) lamps (1 kW to 24 kW, short and compact, with a broad polychromatic spectrum) are used in lines with hot water sanitization (>80°C), where chloramine must be broken down, or where a compact pipe installation at high flow is wanted.

What is bio-assay validation and why does cGMP require it?

Bio-assay validation proves the dose of a UV reactor under real flow dynamics with live microorganism tests (for example Bacillus subtilis or MS2 phage) instead of theoretical calculations. A bio-assay certificate in line with US EPA UVDGM and DVGW / ÖNORM standards serves as evidence of the reactor's microbiological effectiveness in FDA and Ministry of Health GMP inspections.

How does a TOCLine UV system reduce total organic carbon (TOC) in water?

TOCLine systems use special 185 nm vacuum-UV (VUV) lamps with synthetic quartz sleeves. The 185 nm photons split water molecules and form highly reactive hydroxyl free radicals (OH•). These radicals oxidize the organic molecules in the water to CO₂ and water; the downstream EDI / polishing resin then reaches the conductivity and TOC target, and the outlet TOC value achieved depends on the inlet TOC value.

How long do UV lamps last and what is the replacement interval?

Expected lamp life is model specific in the Nuvonic datasheets. Low-pressure amalgam lamps are rated 12,000 hours in the PharmaLine D AF, PharmaLine PQ AF and PureLine D AF / PQ AF series, 9,000 hours in the ECO and PQ AL series, and up to 16,000 hours in the AFX and AF3 ranges. Medium-pressure (MP) lamps are rated 8,000 hours in the PH series (4,000 hours for the largest variants), 9,000 hours in the PQ EO series and 4,000 - 8,000 hours in SwimLine. The UV intensity monitor on the system shows lamp ageing on the controller display.
